- What are the Gympie Regional Council requirements for getting married on the beach or foreshore in the Cooloola region?

- A permit is required from the Gympie Regional Council, but there is no charge. The permit form can be obtained from the GRC and simply needs to detail exactly where you are planning to hold the ceremony. - The Cooloola Coast extends from north of Noosa to Rainbow Beach, Inskip Point, the gateway to Fraser Island, through to Tin Can Bay and its surrounding waterways. - What is the climate of the Cooloola Coast region?

- The Cooloola region enjoys a mild sub-tropical climate with temperatures averaging 28° Celsius in summer to 21° Celsius in Winter. Water temperatures are warm throughout the year generally ranging from 25° Celsius in summer to 19° Celsius in winter. Spring and Autumn are delightful with beautiful crisp mornings warming to a very comfortable daytime temperature in the mid twenties.

- You can reach the Cooloola Coast by road, a 2.5 hour drive north of Brisbane, or by air to either Sunshine Coast Airport or Hervey Bay Airport. Both airports are about a 1.5 hour drive from the Cooloola Coast.

- Fraser Island can be accessed by 10 minute barge trip from Inskip Point, a few minutes drive north of Rainbow Beach. Note that Fraser Island is only accessible to 4WD vehicles.
